Today God talked about wilderness.

He first asked me if I know what is the meaning of this word.

I replied, ‘into the wild without anything? Dark night of the soul? A period of time that God trains us so we can shift back out focus on Him?’

He then asked me to search on the meaning of this world in the dictionary.

So by Oxford Dictionary, the word wilderness means:

  • an uncultivated, uninhabited, and inhospitable region.

  • a neglected or abandoned area.

I didn’t know this word also has the meaning of uncultivated, uninhabited and inhospitable.

’Do you know why I led My people, even My own son, to the wilderness?

This is the time hated by most people. This is the period when all the pain, desire surface. There is nothing you can do. It is how it is. It seems never end but you still be able to survive as I still provide the manna to you. No matter how hard you try, things just don’t work as you expected. No matter how much you strife, you remain in the same position.

This is the period of time that I want to purify the hearts of My people - to train them and get them ready before I set them out to the purpose I placed in their life.

Independence is not a solution in this period, but dependence. I want My people to depend on Me - to direct, provide and protect them. You are like an ant walking in the dessert while only I can see the overall picture from above.

Pride is the biggest obstacle that stops My people from moving forward.

They tend to think they know it all. They have all the biblical knowledge but I don’t know them. They place their security and self-value on other things instead of Me. If you walk in the Baal system, you can never exit My period of training but live in the kingdom that is going to perish. All kingdoms are going to perish and only Mine is unshakable. You have to build your foundation on My rock.

Isaiah 60:12 (NIV)

For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish;

it will be utterly ruined.

Matthew 7:24-27 (NIV)

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Wilderness is a must-have process before I set you off to your promise land. Be patient while I work on you and enjoy! Even My son had to past through tests before entering His ministry on earth.

Do not plant yourself and anchor your roots in the wilderness. Do not compromise. Do not rely on your own strength. Remember, only I can see the full picture from Heaven. All you need to do is put your trust on Me.

This is day 21.

I wonder why the Lord talked about wilderness...

Luke 4:1-13 (AMPC)

Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness

Then Jesus, full of and controlled by the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led in [by] the [Holy] Spirit

For (during) forty days in the wilderness (desert), where He was tempted (tried, tested exceedingly) by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they were completed, He was hungry.

Then the devil said to Him, If You are the Son of God, order this stone to turn into a loaf [of bread].

And Jesus replied to him, It is written, Man shall not live and be sustained by (on) bread alone but by every word and expression of God.

Then the devil took Him up to a high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the habitable world in a moment of time [[c]in the twinkling of an eye].

And he said to Him, To You I will give all this power and authority and their glory (all their magnificence, excellence, preeminence, dignity, and grace), for it has been turned over to me, and I give it to whomever I will.

Therefore if You will do homage to and worship me [[d]just once], it shall all be Yours.

And Jesus replied to him, Get behind Me, Satan! It is written, You shall do homage to and worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.

Then he took Him to Jerusalem and set Him on a gable of the temple, and said to Him, If You are the Son of God, cast Yourself down from here;

10 For it is written, He will give His angels charge over you to guard and watch over you closely and carefully;

11 And on their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.

12 And Jesus replied to him, [The Scripture] says, You shall not tempt (try, test exceedingly) the Lord your God.

13 And when the devil had ended every [the complete cycle of] temptation, he [temporarily] left Him [that is, [h]stood off from Him] until another more opportune and favorable time.
