Citrine: For Creativity & Dominion, For Glory

Citrine is a beautiful yellow variety of quartz. Its name comes from the Old French word for lemon. Citrine also is known as the ‘merchant’s stone’ and is associated with success and wealth.

The colour of Citrine varies from juicy lemon yellow to beautiful shades of amber.

Natural citrine is rare. Most citrine on the market is the result of heat treatment of amethyst:

The yellow colour is caused by traces of iron in the quartz. This occurs very rarely in nature, so most citrine is made by heat-treating other varieties of quartz - usually purple amethyst or smoky quartz, which are both more common and less expensive. By applying heat to these gems, they turn from their original colour to a gorgeous shade of gold. Natural citrine is almost always a pale-yellow colour and commands a far higher price than the processed variety. The most sought-after citrine gemstones are a clear, radiant yellow-to-brownish-red colour, however this is particularly rare for naturally-occurring citrine. - Quoted from Diamond Rocks London

The frequency of Citrine also helps to set your mind on the Heavenly things instead things that are on earth (Colossians 3:2).

For those who are born again in Christ and baptised into Him, you were united with Him in the likeness of death and resurrection (Romans 6:4-11). Your new life is hidden in Jesus Christ in God who is seated at the right hand of God (Colossians 3:1,3).

When we set our mind on heavenly things, we create space for the Holy Spirit to guide, transform and sanctify us. Being led by the Spirit, we walk and live by the Spirit, and so we are progressively being transformed into His image from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Setting our mind above also means putting God’s agenda (His business) above ours. When we seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, all things will be added to us.

It is God’s will for us to live in abundance and prosperity. By faith, we are co-heir with Christ (Romans 8:17) and sons of Abraham (Galatians 3:7), with identity, blessings, abundance and inheritance.

Citrine helps to affirm our identity in Christ and the promises of God.
